Troy Cartwright

Troy Cartwright is an Americana country singer & songwriter born and currently residing in Dallas, Texas.  He was selected as the winner of the 25th Annual B. W. Stevenson Songwriting Competition and is the recipient of numerous awards and nominations, including the Rising Star Texas Music Award and a Dallas Observer Music Award nomination for “Best Country Act”.

2015 was a banner year for Cartwright.  Picked up by Sunfire Entertainment, his debut single “Next Flight Home” reached #23 on the Texas Music Chart.  Success on the chart was also met with success on the road, playing over 125 dates and securing support slots for some of Texas’ biggest artists including Randy Rogers, Charlie Robison, Turnpike Troubadours, Green River Ordinance, William Clark Green, and Zane Williams. Troy also released his debut, full-length album. This self-titled effort (‘Troy Cartwright’) was released via Sony RED Distribution and was recorded with Wes Sharon (John Fullbright, Turnpike Troubadours, Parker Milsap) at his studio in Norman, Oklahoma.

With the completion of his second full-length album, produced by Rob Baird (artist known for his critically-acclaimed album ‘Wrong Side of the River’) and Brian Douglas Phillips (who has worked with David Ramirez and Penny + Sparrow),  an album release slated for late September, and signing to Foolish Kings Management under the direction of Larry Murray (manager for Green River Ordinance, Rob Baird, The Roosevelts, and Mansell), 2016 is already shaping up to be a breakout year for Troy.
